I'm about 50% gray. I've been using box toning to avoid a visible grow-out line, but every single box I've tried has given me really weird colors. The last one was supposed to be a cool ash brown, but it turned out a very dark brown with a lot of purple tones. My natural hair color is somewhere between ash and neutral medium brown. I saw this from HairFiller and thought… this looks interesting, maybe something I can use to freshen up the color until I get the result I want. And after just ONE use, I'm actually SATISFIED! The color came out a nice medium brown with beautiful golden and blonde highlights on my gray strands. I left it on for 20 minutes and will probably touch up the roots (especially at the part) in a week or so for a little extra coverage. Highly recommend! I used the Medium Brown shade.

I was a little skeptical when I first tried this product. Since I have long hair, I needed at least four pumps. I found it worked best to massage it in with a little warm water to get a good lather. I left it on for 15 minutes since my hair is long. Before rinsing, I added a little conditioner – and I have to say I'm very happy with the result. The shade is beautiful, my hair has a really lovely color. I'd just say it's probably best to use your regular conditioner – it doesn't affect the color, and it makes the hair extra soft. Very happy with the final result!

I started seeing roots after just a week with my usual dye and got so tired of the stripe at my part, especially when I put my hair up in a clip. I was honestly pretty skeptical that a shampoo could fix it, but I figured I'd give it a try on a Sunday evening. I pumped three clicks into my hand, massaged it into dry hair, and waited fifteen minutes since I have pretty stubborn gray hair. I rinsed, used my regular conditioner, and dried with my old towel. The result was surprisingly even – the gray area at my temples disappeared and my hair felt soft, not dry. At work my coworker asked if I'd snuck off to the salon again. It feels great to be able to freshen up without a strong smell and without making a mess of the whole bathroom.

My biggest problem has always been that the color fades at the hairline first – it always looks like a light stripe across my forehead. I thought this was going to be another disappointment, but after two uses I'm actually pleasantly surprised. The first time I left it on for twelve minutes, the second time ten, and the trick for me was to work up a really good lather before massaging it in at the hairline. I used an old dark towel the first time just to be safe, but there was no staining at all. The color landed in a soft dark brown tone with no weird red tones. Best of all, it saves so much time – I can do this while the potatoes are boiling.

After just one use I noticed people commenting that I looked more refreshed – a friend actually thought I'd been to the salon.
